Learn employment law playfully with LexQuiz!
How do you convey legal content in an engaging way – without users dropping off after three minutes? SL GmbH had a clear vision: an app that not only informs but motivates.
The target audience: apprentices, career starters, and learners in the field of employment law. The app was supposed to be intuitive, entertaining, and technically mature – including premium access and seamless in-app payments.
Challenge
Laws, paragraphs, clauses – for many users, an instant turn-off. To counter this effect, we needed to:
- develop a cross-platform app with consistent performance (iOS & Android)
- integrate a freemium model offering a free entry point and scalable premium features
- implement a gamification concept: duels, progress systems, avatars
- set up a stable payment system for in-app purchases
The goal: an app that makes learning feel not like work – but like a motivating game.
Solution
The project was realized as a complete in-house production. The technical foundation was Flutter, creating a unified codebase for both platforms – ideal for fast iteration and high UI consistency. With Firebase, the product received a resilient backend with authentication, data storage, and product analytics.
Key features:
- Gamified UX: Progress system, duels, avatars, and haptic feedback increase motivation
- Personalized learning cards: Users learn at their own pace – even without direct competition
- Round-based duels: Test knowledge in battle mode
- Freemium architecture: Basic functions free, premium content integrable via App Store payment
- Animation design: Smooth transitions and micro-interactions deliver a modern app experience
The app was deliberately designed with an easy-to-understand interface suitable even for audiences less accustomed to learning apps.
Result
LexQuiz connects learning content with game mechanics without losing the subject-matter focus. Users get an app that combines short learning sessions, repetition and competition in a clear flow:
- Recurring learning sessions through short rounds and progress systems
- Product feedback as a basis for further iterations
- Structured launch on iOS and Android
- Monetization foundation through integrable in-app purchases
Through the combination of entertaining UX, robust technology, and a clear pedagogical concept, a product emerged that makes employment-law content more accessible and easier to practice repeatedly.
