A campus community for contacts, groups and interests
Project description
StudyNect is a social app for students. The product addresses a real challenge in student life: especially at the start of a degree or after changing location, it can be difficult to find contacts, study groups and people with shared interests. The app should make this entry easier and translate campus community into a digital product.
Target state
The goal was a mobile product that does not leave connections to chance. Students should be able to search by interests, study context and groups without the app feeling like a generic social network. The campus context had to remain visible.
Challenges
The product logic had to balance openness and relevance. Too many empty groups feel weak, but too much matching quickly feels artificial. Social apps also need a clear safety and moderation concept because profiles, messages and groups are sensitive usage areas.
Implementation
We structured the app as a community product: profiles, interests, groups, discovery mechanics and communication work together. The UX prioritizes fast orientation, clear profile information and simple group joins. Technically, the app was prepared for mobile use, push communication and later community scaling.
Outcome
StudyNect received a product foundation that helps students find contacts and groups more deliberately. The app translates campus community into a mobile structure and creates a basis for growth at additional universities.
